Hotels, accommodation and tourism
People no longer choose accommodation from a photo of the room. They choose it from what they imagine they will do there.
Every photo of a room looks the same
An empty room with a made bed is interchangeable with any other. What makes the difference is the surroundings, the season and what there is to do nearby — and that is exactly what photography shows worst, because you can only photograph one day of the year at a time.
What you can film
The treasure hunt
A character looking for something nearby, with every episode leading to a different place within reach of the accommodation. Side effect: the guest gets an itinerary they never asked for.
The town after dark
A night-time guide to the town — for city accommodation, where the draw is the surroundings, not the room.
A year in one place
The same place across four seasons. It solves the biggest problem seasonal businesses have: out of season they have nothing to show.
A trailer for the holiday
A short preview of what the trip will be like — built from the programme the operator has already written.
What to watch out for
- Seasonal content can be made out of season. You do not have to wait until winter for winter footage.
- One character holds the whole series together and becomes the mark of the place.
- Realistic outputs carry an invisible machine mark that they were generated by artificial intelligence; the visible mark is added on publication by whoever publishes the content.
